The Rinnai SENSEI® RX160iN High-Efficiency Condensing Tankless Water Heater is designed to provide continuous, on-demand hot water in a compact wall-mounted system. With up to 160,000 BTU/h of heating input and a maximum rated flow of 9.0 GPM, it offers dependable performance for professionally sized residential hot-water applications.
Unlike a conventional storage-tank water heater, the RX160iN heats water only when a fixture is being used. Its modulating operation adjusts heating output according to demand, helping reduce standby energy loss while maintaining consistent water temperatures.
With a 0.97 Uniform Energy Factor and ENERGY STAR® certification, the RX160iN delivers super-high-efficiency condensing performance. Its condensing system captures additional heat from combustion exhaust before it leaves the unit, supporting efficient operation without sacrificing everyday hot-water comfort.
Rinnai’s Smart Sense™ Adaptive Gas Valve Technology allows the same water heater to operate with natural gas or propane without requiring a separate field-conversion kit. Gas configuration and commissioning must be completed by a qualified professional according to Rinnai instructions.
Approximately the size of a small suitcase, the RX160iN measures 18.5 inches wide, 30.11 inches high and 11.4 inches deep. Its wall-mounted design helps preserve valuable floor space and provides flexible placement in utility rooms, basements and suitable mechanical areas.
The unit supports indoor installation or outdoor mounting with the optional Rinnai Versa-Vent™ outdoor vent-cap accessory. This installation flexibility allows one model to accommodate a wider range of replacement and new-construction applications.
The RX160iN is also recirculation capable and Wi-Fi capable when configured with compatible Rinnai components and accessories. Smart Connect™ Bluetooth technology helps qualified installers simplify setup and registration using the Rinnai Central™ app, while Quick Flush™ technology helps streamline periodic maintenance.
