The Navien NPE-150S2 Condensing Tankless Water Heater is a compact, high-efficiency hot-water system designed for smaller homes and residential applications with moderate hot-water demand. With up to 120,000 BTU/h of heating input, a 0.93 UEF rating and flow rates up to 6.8 GPM at a 35°F temperature rise, it provides reliable on-demand hot water without requiring a conventional storage tank.
The NPE-150S2 heats water only when a hot-water fixture is being used, helping reduce the standby energy loss associated with traditional tank-style water heaters. Its modulating burner adjusts operation according to the current demand, supporting efficient gas consumption during different levels of household use.
Advanced condensing technology captures additional heat from combustion exhaust before it leaves the system. This recovered heat contributes to the unit’s 0.93 UEF rating and helps improve fuel efficiency compared with many conventional storage water heaters.
The unit features dual stainless-steel heat exchangers designed to provide corrosion resistance, efficient heat transfer and dependable long-term operation. Its field-convertible gas system is supplied for natural gas and can be converted to propane by a qualified professional using the appropriate conversion components.
Measuring approximately 17.3 inches wide, 27.4 inches high and 13.2 inches deep, the wall-mounted cabinet saves valuable floor space. It can be installed indoors or outdoors with the appropriate Navien outdoor vent kit, providing flexibility for replacement projects and new residential installations. Outdoor installation should only be considered where the climate and installation requirements permit.
The built-in EZNav™ multiline control panel provides convenient temperature adjustment, operating information and system monitoring. Additional capabilities include built-in HotButton™ control, electronic ignition, cascading capability and common venting for compatible multi-unit installations.
Low exhaust temperatures allow the use of approved PVC, CPVC, polypropylene or stainless-steel venting. Two-inch venting can extend up to 75 equivalent feet, helping simplify installation when all manufacturer instructions and applicable building codes are followed.
